Norges Grillmester is at it again! In the mountains without a grill? No problema amigo!

So we drove up north from Oslo and ended up at Farmors hytte ( cabin). I bought loads of yummy exclusive goods from Meny and was set for a fantastic weekend.

Being the chef in the family, my job is to make sure the food and dinners are tasty and fabulous!

Det vi merket når vi kom på hytte var at grillen var tomt for gass. Ja ja….hva gjør man da? We found an iron casket pot and then found something to use as a rist. Så helte vi på med kull grill og vi var klar til grilling. Min oppgave var å marinere maten og gjør alt klar for mannen til å grille. Du skjønner…….mannen vil helst grille selv så han tar seg av det.

I like to have fun while making food. So what you see in the back are my little pigeons or hens. They are actually baked potato made into silly animal shapes ;).

Grillet grønnsaker i aluminiums folie er både enkel og kjempe godt! Her har vi asperges bønner, sjalott løk, champignon, paprika og blad persille. Du legge det i midten og drysser litt oliven olje og salt og pepper. Så ruller du den sammen.

Jeg marinerte mørbrad i salt, pepper, timian, cumin, hvitløks pulver, fersk hvitløk, og tørket koriander. I like to use equal amounts of the spices. Lets say 1ss (tbs). I use 1 dl oil of whatever you find either corn oil or olive oil. Then I squeeze 1 lime or lemon. I like using lime on meats and lemon on fish. I find that this way it really gives it a full and rich flavor.

I tried to make snake looking veggie packages but they look like they have just eaten a huge brick 😉 he he he….

Grilling in an iron cast! Vi griller midt på plenen i en jern gryte. Bakte potetene ligger rett på de glødene kull. Her ser du mannen som passer på at alt tilbedredes perfekt! Ofcourse I am sitting by his side biting my tongue…..trying not to take over!

A little surf and turf? Oh yeah 🙂 Just put some butter on the lobster and grill on shell side. Når smøret smelter så er den klar!

Kjøttet legges på fjølen og vi lar den hvile i ca 15 min. Vi let the meat rest for 15mins then cut nice size slices. The meat was perfectly grilled! A minimum of meat juice leaked out.  ( In order to get this texture and juiciness on the meat then you must stand by the grill the whole time and turn continuously) Man må passe på kjøttet hele tiden. Kjøttet var saftig or mørt.
