Curiosity killed the duck??? The Asian challenge episode 5

So many of you are asking me what happened to our dishes on the last challenge. Hva lagde vi? Why didn’t they show our dishes and what did the judges say? Well…… all I can say is, Thats reality TV!!!!

This challenge threw us off our game. Vi var uenig helle veien. Bror ville absolute lage BBQ saus og ha texas preg mens jeg ville holde meg til den asiatisk kjøkkenet. Det endte med at vi lagde hver vår ting. Ikke så bra samarbeid den dagen nei…… Men maten var god og vi fikk være med videre i konkurransen. Yippie! Jeg var stor fornøyd jeg. Little brother var små sur at vi ikke var blant de beste. ( Stor konkurranse mennekse 🙂 )  Men hey, we can’t win them all 🙂

Vår matrett ble:

Tataki tunafisk med soyasaus, tataki laks med østerssaus og en crispy fennikel og mynte salat med en piri teriyaki saus og en sweet and sour BBQ saus.

Matrett nr 2: Grillet and med stir fry.

Her holdte vi oss safe. I do recall the judges saying that it was the best prepared duck 🙂 . Our attempt at the Asian tortillas was a fiasco though. De så mer ut som norske pannekaker! Ha ha ha. Jeg må si at vi hadde bare ikke bra nok ideer denne dagen. Men heldigvis så smakte maten god but it just wasn’t the best.

I must say that watching these episodes is turmoil for me! All the emotions I had during the competition, I actually relive while watching them on the telly.  I am a complete mess! I get angry, sad, happy, excited, but most of all STRESSED! Jeg husker hvor stressende det var å lage mat på tidspress. Med tidspress mener jeg, det at vi fikk ikke tid til å tenke nøye over hva vi skulle lage. Det er ikke nok tid til å være kreativ. We got to go with the gut feeling. Only problem here is that there are two different guts……he he he. Det er vanskelig å samkjøre når det er to ulike mennesker with different pallets ( tastes). This is our main problem. And its our strength! Funny how that is 😉 Another fact its that the longer we are in the show, the more pressure we get. The challenges get harder, we get tired, we have used up our best ideas and the stress level is turned up! We have made it half way in the show. I am very proud to have come so far. Lets see what the next challenge brings and hope we continue on Norges Grillmester!!!!
